Nortel Business Services Gateway BSG8ew Wireless Router
is a device that provides us easy access to internet services. This wireless router has dimensions of 8.5 x 5 x 2inches. This external wireless router can be used as wired routers with its 7-port switch that is integrated in the device. The device transfers data at the rate of 100 Mbps and supports Ethernet, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g and Fast Ethernet protocols. For networking, it also supports IPSec and TCP/IP protocols.
Routing and switching are supported by RIP, OSPF, VRRP and Ethernet protocols respectively. The HTTP, RMON, HTTPS, SSH-2, SNMP 1, SNMP 2, SNMP 3 and Telnet protocols support remote management of the network. Main features of this wireless router include DNS proxy, NAT support, VPN support, DHCP support, SNTP support, VLAN support, IGMP snooping, Syslog support, DiffServ support, Firewall protection, Broadcast Storm Control, Quality of Service (QoS), Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) support, Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Access Control List (ACL) support.
It complies with standards such as IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1x, IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11g. The device provides MAC address table of size 4K, 5000 sessions of Active firewall, 1024 firewall policies, 512 OSPF routes, 128 IP router interfaces, 100 ACL rules, 64 virtual interfaces, 64 IPSec tunnels and 8 QoS hardware entries. The device provides gateway for VoIP functionality with one FXO and two FXS telephony interfaces. It features Call hold, Call waiting, Call transfer, Call forwarding, Message waiting and Voice activity detection (VAD).
Interfaces supported by the device are 7 x Network - Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX - RJ-45, 1 x Network - Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX - RJ-45 ( WAN ), 1 x Network - Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T - RJ-45, 1 x Phone line – FXO and 2 x Phone line – FXS. Other features of this wireless router include support for AES, MD5, SHA, SSL, WPA, WPA2 and Triple DES encryption algorithm as well as promoting RADIUS and TACACS+ authentication method. Nortel Business Services Gateway BSG8ew 100Mbps Wireless Router works on an external power adapter.
