Contributing to the advancement in wireless technology, SMC Barricade introduces its new SMC Barricade SMC7904WBRA Wireless Router. Being unique in its looks, this DSL based modem has the dimensions 22 x 13.3 x 2.5 cm (W x D x H) and weighs a mere 0.4 kg. Though the unit is mainly based on the wireless technology, it supports wired (cable) connectivity. Operating with a frequency band of 2.4 GHz and a speed of 24 Mbps (Mega Bytes per Second), it has a gain of 2 Dbi and follows DQPSK, CCK, 64 QAM, BPSK, QPSK, 16 QAM line coding format and adheres to the following data link protocols - Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g.

Incorporated with the fast booming and widespread wireless technology, the Barricade SMC7904WBRA Wireless Router supports DHCP, NAT, Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) and VPN. The unit comes with an upgradable firmware and is compliant to IEEE 802.1D, IEEE 802.1x standards. This wireless router uses OFDM, DSSS Spread Spectrum Method for the WAN connectivity and is bound by various types of protocols in the network connectivity process such as:
• Switching Protocol – Ethernet
• Transport Protocol - PPTP, L2TP, IPSec, PPPoE, PPPoA.
• Routing Protocol – RIP - 1, RIP – 2
• Remote Management Protocol - SNMP 1, SNMP 2, Telnet, HTTP.
• Digital Signalling Protocol – ADSL2+
This wireless network access device is bound to save the operating network with a rich set of security features such as user access password protection, NAT firewall, SPI, intrusion detection, rule scheduling, URL blocking, WEP encryption and much more security related features. The modem unit also supports multiple user access with 4 network ports and it serves as a print server.
It is designed with an optimal power utility of 12V and 1A, the unit calls for some of the basic system capabilities to be used. Each of the system should be equipped with an ADSL internet service, 2.4 GHz Ethernet or wireless adapter and should have any one of the following operating systems - Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP, Mac OS 8.5 or later, Linux or Unix with the browser requirements - Internet Explorer 5.5 or above, Netscape 4.7 or above, Mozilla 1.7 or above & Firefox 1.0 or above.
